radio is set to the station you want to
hear.) At the preset time, the radio
turns on, then automatically turns off
after 1 hour and 59 minutes.
Using the Sleep Timer
This feature lets you set the radio to
play for up to 1 hour and 59 minutes
and then automatically turn off. This is
useful if you want to have the radio
play as you go to sleep.

To play the radio for 59 minutes, press
SLEEP once.
To keep the radio playing, slide
ALARM/AUTO/ON/OFF to ON. To turn
off the alarm sooner, set ALARM/
AUTO/OFF/ON to OFF. To reset the
alarm to sound again the next day,
slide it back to ALARM or AUTO.

To adjust the radio’s volume, rotate
VOLUME.
To set a playing time of less than 59
minutes, hold down SLEEP, then press
MINUTE. The time on the display de-
creases by 1 minute with each press.
(Hold down MINUTE to continuously
decrease the digits.)
Using Snooze
To silence the alarm for a few min-
utes, press SNOOZE after the radio or
buzzer turns on. This silences the ra-
dio or buzzer for about 9 minutes. You
can press SNOOZE as many times as
you like.

To set a playing time between 1 hour
and 1 hour and 59 minutes:
1. Hold down SLEEP. 0:59 appears
on the display.
2. While you hold SLEEP, press
HOUR once. The time on the dis-
play increases to 1 hour, 59 min-
utes.
3. While you continue to hold down
SLEEP, press MINUTE to have the
minute digits decrease by 1 with
each press. (Hold down MINUTE
to continuously decrease the dig-
its.)
To turn off the radio before it automat-
ically turns off, press SNOOZE.

TO KNOW
To enjoy your CR-317 Clock Radio for
a long time:
Your clock radio might cause TV or ra-
dio interference even when it is oper-
ating properly. To determine whether
your clock radio is causing the inter-
ference, turn off your clock radio. If the
interference goes away, your clock ra-
dio is causing it. Try to eliminate the
interference by:
• Keep the clock radio dry. If it gets
wet, wipe it dry immediately.
• Use and store the clock radio only
in normal temperature environ-
ments.
• Keep the clock radio away from
dust and dirt.
• Moving your clock radio away
from the TV or radio
• Handle the clock radio gently and
carefully. Don’t drop it.
• Connecting your clock radio to an
outlet that is on a different electri-
cal circuit from the TV or radio
• Wipe the clock radio with a damp
cloth occasionally to keep it look-
ing new.

Modifying or tampering with the clock
radio’s internal components can cause
a malfunction and might invalidate its
warranty and void your FCC authoriza-
tion to operate it. If your clock radio is
not performing as it should, take it to
your local RadioShack store for assis-

If you cannot eliminate the interfer-
ence, the FCC requires that you stop
using your clock radio.
